Signups are now open! They will remain open until October 23, 11:59pm Eastern time (Countdown). You can browse the requests in the very cool app.

The tagset will remain open for nominations through the end of signups. If your nomination has not been approved yet, check that you have disambiguated. Help with spotting erros/duplicates is much appreciated, since sometimes we can miss things!

Important Note: If AO3 won't let you request a character that you know is definitely in the tagset, please comment here with the exact fandom and character(s) you were trying to request. A mod will then batch load it for you on the backend, and you will be able to request it.

Requests:

• You must request 3-10 fandoms with 1-20 characters and 1-7 drabble types each. Fandoms in your requests must be unique, but may be related (e.g., three Star Wars requests would be fine, as long as it was three separate Star Wars fandoms).

• If you wish, you may request Any for drabble type. This means you are open to receiving any of the 7 drabble types in the tagset.

• If you wish, you may request Any character. This means any character in the canon (NOT just the tagset). Please do not request Any unless you really are open to receiving any character from that canon.

• If you have character DNWs, requesting Any might not be the best idea, as this could end up with a bad match with someone who had only offered that character. We will be checking for this before we send assignments, but it's possible we could miss something, which would lead to us having to re-assign your writer and send you to pinch hit. (Note that the character DNW would still be upheld in this situation.) If you are requesting Any and do not wish to receive fic about objects etc, you should DNW that as well.

• Blank signups are allowed, but prompts, likes, and a list of DNWs are strongly encouraged.

 

Offers:

• You must offer 3-10 fandoms with 1-20 characters and 1-7 drabble types each. Fandoms in your offers must be unique, but may be related (e.g., three Star Wars offers would be fine, as long as it was three separate Star Wars fandoms).

• If you wish, you may offer Any for drabble type. This means you are open to writing any of the 7 drabble types in the tagset. (Note that unless your recipient has also requested Any, you must write one of the specific drabble types they requested.)

• If you wish, you may offer Any character. This means any character in the tagset (i.e., if your recipient has requested specific characters, you must write one of them). Please do not offer Any unless you really are open to writing any character in the tagset for that fandom (including any last-minute additions to the tagset).

 

Do Not Wants:

• Only reasonable DNWs in your AO3 signup will be enforced.

• A reasonable DNW is a DNW that is clear and does not attempt to box your writer into writing just one thing.

Other:

• Some tags may not appear in the drop-down menu, but can still be used by copy-pasting from the tagset itself. This is a known AO3 bug.

 

• If you encounter any issues while signing up, please let us know ASAP, as AO3 bugs can sometimes hit exchanges. (We are aware of the character tag issue; please see the note at the top of this post!)

• If you need to let us know something about your signup (such as not wanting to be assigned to a specific other participant), please contact us via email (seasonsofdrabbles AT gmail) or the mod contact post.

Hi! Super excited for this round! I wanted to let you know that there is a duplicated fandom.

Six of Crows Series - Leigh Bardugo (12)

I checked and most of the characters in the 6 group are in the 12 group except for:
- Matthias Helvar (Six of Crows)
- Wylan Van Eck (Six of Crows)

Hello, thanks for the comment! It's actually not a duplicated fandom—one is for a single book, and one is for the series—though it can be confusing. I do see that a couple of them wandered so will fix that right now.

I know it's only a tiny thing, but it just bugs me that in Little Women (1994) it says

Theodore 'Lawrie' Lawrence (LW94)

and it should actually be

Theodore 'Laurie' Laurence (LW94)

Hi, we can definitely fix that. The only issue is that you have currently signed up for that tag, so after we change it, you will have to edit your signup to re-add the new tag. If you can't do it before signups close we can add it manually for you then.

Sorry if I'm just having a senior moment here, but are the optional Relationship fields in the offers new to this round? I don't remember them being there before.
Is this for easier matching based on a relationship from among the available characters? And what if we're willing to write several relationships from within the character groups under a fandom; should we just pick a favourite in that case or leave that field blank?

Tried that, and several relationships are not yet canonical so they came up as errors.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention! That field was accidentally included due to AO3's default setup, but it shouldn't affect matching at all. We've also adjusted the settings so that no one should be able to actually put something in that field from now on. We've also sent an email to the few people who did use the field to let them know it won't affect matching.

The tag set for Video Games: Baldur's Gate has four duplicates.

Edwin Odesseiron (Baldur's Gate) is listed twice, identically.
Imoen (Baldur's Gate) and Imoen (BG) are duplicates.
Charname (Baldur's Gate) and Charname (BG) are duplicates.
Xan (Baldur's Gate) and Xan (BG) are duplicates.

Hello, thanks for bringing that to our attention! Luckily, it's early enough we should have no trouble removing the duplicates. The only issue is that we deleted Charname (Baldur's Gate), which is in your requests, so you'll need to edit your signup to re-add the new tag, which is Charname (BG). If you can't do it before signups close we can add it manually for you then.

Trails of Cold Steel is showing up as two different fandoms with different characters under each iteration. Can they be consolidated?

Hi, we believe that one of them is for only the first game of the series (Trails of Cold Steel) while the other is for the series (including the sequels). I do notice a couple wandering tags, though, so will fix that right away!

The disambiguation is confusing, however. We will see if we can do something about that. ETA: Since no one has signed up for them yet, we will fix it right now and it shouldn't throw anything off.

The disambiguations have been fixed to be clearer and the wandering tags are back under their proper fandom. We hope that helps, and thank you for letting us know about the issue!

However, we won't merge the two nominated fandoms at this time. This is because the two different tags technically refer to different things: one refers to the single game "Trails of Cold Steel," and the other refers to the four different games that make up the Trails of Cold Steel series. While this might be a mistake, we'd like to err on the side of caution, as it is not uncommon for nominators to want to distinguish between a single installment of the series and the series as a whole. The sign-up won't allow me to add the characters Miyuki Kazuya and Narumiya Mei from ダイヤのA | Daiya no A | Ace of Diamond, nor will it let me add the characters Aizawa Shouta | Eraserhead and Shigaraki Tomura | Shimura Tenko from 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia. I'd appreciate any help you could provide!
