Nominations are now open for the Spring 2023 round of Seasons of Drabbles!

Guidelines

• The tagset is here. Nominations will remain open until signups close on May 7.

• You may nominate up to 10 fandoms with up to 10 characters each.

• All character nominations should be disambiguated, for example: Steve Rogers (Captain America (Movies)). Not doing this slows the approval process significantly, so please disambiguate! Characters may be nominated in any/every fandom in which they appear.

• The tagset will be re-used through the end of 2023. Nominations will be wiped ahead of each new round to allow you to nominate new fandoms/characters for that round.

• With some exceptions, both umbrella fandoms and sub-fandoms are allowed. For instance, you may nominate under Marvel Cinematic Universe or Star Wars - All Media Types. You may also nominate under sub-fandoms such as Thor (Movies) or Star Wars Original Trilogy. (Please remember that if you request Any for an umbrella fandom, you will be requesting any character who appears in any of the fandoms below the umbrella - NOT just characters in the tagset. So if you plan to request Any, you may want to request under a specific sub-fandom rather than the umbrella.) Please check the fandom notes section for exceptions prior to nominating!

• RPF is allowed. Nominated RPF characters must be famous in their own right, and must be 18+ for modern RPF.

• Crossovers are allowed. Crossover fandoms should be nominated as Fandom A/Fandom B. Character nominations for crossovers should be nominated as Character's Name (Fandom A/Fandom B). For example, if nominating Luke Skywalker for a Narnia/Star Wars crossover, the fandom would be nominated as Chronicles of Narnia/Star Wars, while the character would be nominated as Luke Skywalker (Narnia/Star Wars).

• Recursive fandoms are allowed. The required format is Recursive: Fic/Series title - Creator. Recursive fandoms may be nominated under two circumstances: 1. the creator has posted a blanket permission statement, 2. you are the creator. In either case, please contact us when nominating so that we have the pertinent permissions. Characters nominated under recursive fandoms should be disambiguated with the title of the recursive fandom.

• Since we will be re-using the tagset all year, recursive fandoms will be removed on an as-needed basis between rounds (only if a blanket permission statement comes down, or the creator asks for it to be removed).

• Original Works are allowed. When nominating characters, please disambiguate with (Original Work). If an original character's gender is important to you, please specify it in your nomination.

• Original characters may also be nominated in existing fandoms. When nominating an original character within an existing fandom, please disambiguate with the name of the fandom. If an original character's gender is important to you, please specify it in your nomination.

• Objects/concepts/etc may be nominated in the character slot for any canon in which they appear. For Original Works, you can make some up if you would like.

Fandom notes:

• For BNHA nominations, please nominate under the new tag "僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia (Anime & Manga)"—the old fandom tag without the "Anime & Manga" bit has been removed and the characters nominated under both have been merged.

• Do not nominate The Avengers (Marvel Movies). Any MCU character who appears only in The Avengers movies should be nominated under Marvel Cinematic Universe.

• For Disney's What If...?, characters should include the season/episode number in the disambiguation. E.g. if nominating Peggy from the first episode of s1, the character tag should be Peggy Carter (What If s1e1). Characters may be nominated for any episode in which that specific version of the character appeared.

• There may be other special cases we are currently unaware of. If your fandom requires unique consideration, please reply to this post to let us know. Additionally, please keep an eye on the Dreamwidth community, as we are likely to post clarification requests as nominations come in.

The 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia fandom tag was recently changed to “僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia (Anime & Manga)” by AO3 so you have two different fandoms listed in the tagset because people can no longer nominate for the shorter one.

I tried to nominate individual characters that were already in the old fandom listing to the new fandom listing, but since they were already nominated and approved for the former, it didn’t work.

If anyone has a problem with signups because of this, that’s why (same fandom, but the label changed). I believe if you wanted to fix it, you’ll only need to delete the 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia listing and reassociate the nominated characters to 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia (Anime & Manga), but I understand if that would be too tedious of a task.

Thank you for the heads-up about this problem! I think the best way to avoid confusion would be to merge everything under the new Anime & Manga tag. It will take a bit of time, but we'll try to get that resolved soon as possible.

UPDATE: The merging is done! We'll add a note to this post so that nominators know which fandom to nominate under.

I don't know if this is a wandering tag problem but it is seems that in the 'Smallville' (TV) category, some of the characters pop up twice (Clark Kent, Lois Lane), one using (Smallville TV) disambiguation and the other with the (DCU) disambiguation.

Thanks for pointing that out. It looks like we actually have several wandering DCU tags that should be under DCU (Comics) instead.

My fandom tag has been erroneously changed. I nominated Good Girls Revolt (TV) and it was changed to Good Girls (TV), which is a different show.

Hi, I'm the Pizza Tower nominator. I nominated character tags for Fake Peppino and Bruno; currently, Bruno is synned to Fake Peppino in the tag system. In the game's canon, Bruno is not seen, and only implied to exist via a sign; him and Fake Peppino being one and the same is fan speculation/fanon. To my knowledge, there is also no information on any connection between the two in the developer's comics. Therefore, I would like to ask for these characters to be considered separate for this exchange. While both tags have been approved, I'd like to let the mod team know early to prevent any confusion.

FYI "Calico" Jack Rackham (Black Sails) and Anne Bonny (Black Sails) also appear under 18th Century CE RPF, probably need to make special disambigs for them to keep them from wandering.
