Nomination Queries + Important Reminders

Below you can find some important reminders as both nominations and signups continue. You'll also find a couple queries we have about some nominated tags. Please check if they are your nominations!

Reminders:

•  You must disambiguate when nominating characters. Non-disambiguated nominations make the whole approval process slower. If your nominations haven't been approved yet, check to see if you've disambiguated them.
  • You can disambiguate by putting the canon name, or an abbreviation, in parentheses at the end of the tag. Examples: Barry Allen (The Flash (TV 2014)), Arya Stark (GoT)

• If AO3 won't let you request a character that you know is definitely in the tagset, please comment on the signups post with the exact fandom and character(s) you were trying to request. A mod will then batch load it for you on the backend, and you will be able to request it.

• Some tags may not appear in the drop-down menu, but can still be used by copy-pasting from the tagset itself. This is a known AO3 bug.

Queries:

• "Townperson" and "Traveler" have been nominated under Encanto. If these are meant to be original characters, let us know so we can change them to "Original Townperson" and "Original Traveler". If they are meant to be a specific character, please provide more detail in the nomination.

• "Background & Cameo Characters" has been nominated under The Batman (2022). We've decided this is too broad and encourage the nominator to instead nominate something more specific.

Queried nominations that do not get fixed/responded to will be rejected.

If it's too much hassle, please ignore this, but Dean Winchester's tag isn't capitalized and I am not sure if we can fix that?

Hello! For non-canonical tags, AO3 defaults to the capitalization from the very first use of that tag and we can't change it, even if we try to type out the capitalized version. If we were to try to add "Dean Winchester (Supernatural)" to the tagset, it would automatically change to all lowercase. However, we can swap it with something like "Dean Winchester (Supernatural TV)" and that capitalization should stick. Since it appears nobody has offered or requested the tag yet, I'll just do that right now.
