Hi everyone, the collection is open again for posting!

We have a couple email queries out—if you posted your assignment but it is still not approved, this means we have contacted you. Please get back to us in the next 24 hours!

All participants who did not post their assignment by the deadline are now defaulted. As soon as we are able, we will update the comm with the post-deadline pinch hits, so keep an eye out for that.

Hi everyone, this is a reminder that assignments are due in about 48 hours on Saturday, April 20 @ 11:59pm Eastern Daylight time (Countdown).

Recall that all gifts and treats should be for a fandom and character the recipient requested, must be a length they requested, and must not include reasonable DNWs from their AO3 signup. Treats that do not fit any recipient's request may be posted to the collection without a recipient.

Hi everyone, assignments have now been sent out!

• The deadline is Saturday, April 20 @ 11:59pm Eastern Daylight time (Countdown). If your assignment has not been submitted to AO3 by then, you will be defaulted.

• If your recipient did not request a fandom, character, and drabble type you offered, please contact the mods at seasonsofdrabbles@gmail.com ASAP.

• If you need to default, please do so via the button on AO3.

• For the requirements your drabble must meet, please see our updated guidelines. The collection is moderated and we will be doing a brief check of submitted works before admitting them into the collection. If we see an issue, we will contact you through email.

• If you write a drabble for a fandom in the tagset but it doesn't fit anyone's request, you may post it to the collection anyway, with no recipient.

Initial pinch hits will be posted about a day from now. Happy drabbling!

With signups closed, below is the expected timeline for the next couple days:

• Like always, for the next 12 hours, we will be adding to people's signups upon request. This is intended for people who may have run into the character tagset bug when signing up close to the deadline, or whose nominations were approved late. However, anyone may ask to have characters added to their requests or offers. If you would like us to add to your signup, please post on the screened mod contact post or email us at seasonsofdrabbles@gmail.com. Please make sure to include your AO3 username.

• After that window has closed, we will check the matching and send out emails to anyone who is unmatchable on offers. We'll also be checking individual signups at this time in case we find any issues there; if there are, those emails will also go out sometime tomorrow. Everyone we email will be given 24 hours to respond. Hopefully there will only be one round of emails that need to be sent out.

• Barring unexpected delays, assignments will go out by Wednesday, April 10.

As you wait for assignments to go out, please feel free to check out the app to browse requests and start writing!

Signups are now open! They will remain open until Sunday, April 7 @ 11:59pm Eastern Daylight time (Countdown). You can browse the requests in the app!

The tagset will remain open for nominations through the end of signups. Please disambiguate your nominations to make the approvals process faster. IMPORTANT NOTE! If AO3 won't let you signup for a character that you know is definitely in the tagset, please comment here or email us with the exact fandom and character(s) you were trying to request/offer. A mod will then batch load it for you on the backend, and you will be able to request it.

• You must request 3-10 fandoms with 1-20 characters and 1-7 drabble types each. Fandoms in your requests must be unique, but may be related (e.g., three Star Wars requests would be fine, as long as it was three separate Star Wars fandoms).

• If you wish, you may request Any for drabble type. This means you are open to receiving any of the 7 drabble types in the tagset.

• If you wish, you may request Any character. This means any character in the canon (NOT just the tagset). Please do not request Any unless you really are open to receiving any character from that canon.

Other:

• Some tags may not appear in the drop-down menu, but can still be used by copy-pasting from the tagset itself. This is a known AO3 bug.

• If you encounter any issues while signing up, please let us know ASAP, as AO3 bugs can sometimes hit exchanges.

• If you need to let us know something about your signup (such as not wanting to be assigned to a specific other participant), please contact us via email (seasonsofdrabbles AT gmail) or the mod contact post.

Seasons of Drabbles is an exchange for the creation of drabbles and drabble variants. It will run once per season*. The current round is for spring 2024.

We've included some clarifying information on drabble types in the Guidelines, so check them out if you're unsure of their definitions!

*4x per year, with each round taking place sometime sometime within a three-month period (March-May, June-August, September-November, December-February). Each round will take about a month from nominations through author reveals.
